Dance at the elite, competitive level is an incredibly physically demanding sport. TOTAL CONDITIONING provides sports science support services, including strength and conditioning coaching and sports massage therapy, to a number of the World’s top 50 IDSF (International Dance Sport Federation) Global Tour competitors.
When conditioning elite level dancers, Philip Nourse focuses on a number of key areas, including:
Single leg stability and strength
Ankle and knee stability, and general lower leg conditioning
Ability to change direction rapidly and with control
Dance specific core control and stability
Functional flexibility and mobility in the areas key to dance performance
